Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

At Apple Orchard, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for young people in our care.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual who can provide high-quality care and support to our young people. The successful candidate will have a strong background in childcare and youth work, with a focus on creating a safe and stimulating environment that promotes positive relationships and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized care and support to young people, including planning and preparing activities that meet their needs and interests.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team and other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the home and the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other stakeholders, including local authorities and placing authorities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the welfare and well-being of young people.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in childcare and youth work.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in childcare or youth work, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in childcare or youth work, such as a Diploma or NVQ in Health and Social Care.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with young people, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
