Senior Mental Health Professional for Complex Case Management

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Professional to join our esteemed team at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to our patients, particularly those with complex cases requiring diagnosis, formulation, and prescription of Cognitive Enhancers.
Based at our state-of-the-art Memory Clinic in Coltman Street, Hull, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team, comprising nursing and psychology professionals. Your clinical expertise will enable you to diagnose complex cases, review CT Scan results, and inform GPs about physical health problems.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the delivery of high-quality memory services to older people across Hull and East Yorkshire. You will be expected to hold and maintain S12 (2) and Responsible and Approved Clinician Status for on-call commitments, which are 1 in 7.5 on our Old People and Learning Disability Rota.
Key Responsibilities
- To work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment services for older adults with mental health conditions.
- To diagnose complex cases, formulate treatment plans, and prescribe Cognitive Enhancers as necessary.
- To work closely with nursing and psychology staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
- To develop and maintain relationships with GPs to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to mental health services.

Requirements
We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional with the following qualifications and skills:
- A medical degree or equivalent qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
- Experience working with complex cases and providing Cognitive Enhancer prescriptions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using technology to support patient care and administrative tasks.
