As a Scientific Officer at Affinity Water, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our water supply. Your primary responsibility will be to carry out water quality investigations, audits, and ground condition assessments. You will also be responsible for analyzing sample results and reporting on your findings. Additionally, you will provide support to the Operations Scientist Network and ensure that water quality is not impacted by any network activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Operations Scientist Network during their absence.
  • Provide relevant support to the Operations Scientist Network in monitoring and improving water quality performance.
  • Carry out ground condition assessments for new developments and recommend suitable materials.
  • Investigate network water quality events and provide information to the Operations Scientist Network.
  • Conduct structured audits and report outcomes to the Operations Scientist Network.
  • Identify areas at higher risk of water quality events through site-specific studies.
  • Respond to and investigate exceedances and unusual results within prescribed timescales.
  • Ensure all operational network samples are taken and water quality complies with regulatory and operational values.
  • Provide expert water quality advice and support to teams involved in operational activities.
  • Provide water quality training to community-based teams.
