Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our team as a Digital Midwife Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of digital transformation in maternity care, driving innovation and improvement across our services.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of national digital programmes, overseeing the tracking of progress against digital transformation plans, and developing a networked approach to enable digital transformation. They will also play a key role in supporting NHSX to achieve its five missions, including reducing the burden on staff, giving people the tools they need to access information, ensuring safety, and improving productivity.

The post holder will work autonomously, accountable for their own practice, and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. They will be visible to staff and available to provide informatics support to midwives in their day-to-day settings.

Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with current registration
  • First-level degree in a related healthcare discipline or substantial experiential equivalence
  • Undertaken basic qualifications in the use of computer packages, such as the European Computer Driving License (ECDL), and be proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software
  • Post-graduate management qualification and/or equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive experience
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous IT or data quality experience
  • Teaching qualification and/or recent teaching activity
