About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our team as a Digital Specialist Midwife. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the digital transformation of maternity services and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to improve patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of national digital programmes to support safer care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Oversee the tracking of progress against digital transformation plans and develop a networked approach to enable digital transformation.
  • Collaborate with the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide informatics support to midwives in their day-to-day settings.
  • Support the development of electronic patient records and contribute to the improvement of digital systems.
Requirements
  • First-level degree in a related healthcare discipline or substantial experiential equivalence.
  • Undertaken basic qualifications in the use of computer packages such as the European Computer Driving License (ECDL) and be proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software.
  • Post-graduate management qualification and/or equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive experience.
Desirable
  • Previous IT or data quality experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with databases, data analysis, and coding.
  • Ability to store data information safely and correctly.
  • Good understanding of digital systems and advances to develop and manage electronic patient records.
Knowledge and Skills
  • In-depth understanding of the national digital agenda and including the national maternity review and safer maternity care agenda.
  • Up-to-date and evidence-based knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
  • In-depth understanding of the Maternity Services Data Set (MSDS) and ability to apply the findings to improve service delivery.
