Job Summary

The Barchester Healthcare team is seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team as a Bank Chef. As a Bank Chef, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents. Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavorsome, and well-balanced menus that cater to the preferences of our residents.
  • Work closely with residents to tailor menus to their individual needs and preferences.
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring seamless operations and maintaining high standards.
  • Lead and motivate the team to deliver exceptional results and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Work within budget and manage stock control to optimize resources and minimize waste.

Requirements
  • A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents.
  • Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in helping lead and inspire a team.
  • A good understanding of nutrition and experience of working with fresh seasonal food.
  • The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home.
  • Good understanding of HACCP.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate should hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification and have experience in helping lead and inspire a team. This role requires a personable and warm approach, a good understanding of nutrition, and experience of working with fresh seasonal food. The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home is essential.
