Suffolk New College is seeking an experienced Agricultural Farm Technician to join our team at the Suffolk Rural campus. About the Role
This full-time position offers a competitive salary of approximately £24,000 per annum, within the range of £22,623 to £25,668. As an Agricultural Farm Technician, you will assist with various tasks on the farm, including training to use specialist equipment and systems where needed. You should have a good understanding of health and safety principles and be prepared to undertake additional training in this area.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day farm duties to support both commercial operations and learner activities
- Develop skills to operate specialist equipment and systems, with training provided as required
- Contribute to the wider college health and safety activity, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and students
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives
Requirements
- Relevant industry experience and formal qualifications/tickets
- Ability to work effectively with young people, record-keeping, and farm management systems
- Good understanding of health and safety principles and willingness to undertake additional training
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
