
Arable Agriculture Manager

About the Job: As an Arable Agriculture Manager at Dennington Hall Farms, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our farm, working closely with the Farm Manager to ensure the successful growth and harvesting of our crops.
Job Description:
- Manage and coordinate the activities of a team of 4 permanent staff and seasonal workers, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and implement sustainable farming practices, utilizing modern machinery and precision farming equipment to optimize crop yields and minimize environmental impact.
- Monitor and analyze crop performance, soil health, and environmental initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with the Farm Manager to develop and implement new farming techniques and strategies, ensuring that our farm remains at the forefront of sustainable agriculture.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in arable farming, with a proven track record of success in optimizing crop yields and reducing environmental impact.
- A strong understanding of sustainable agriculture principles and practices, including crop rotation, cover cropping, and organic amendments.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of staff and seasonal workers.
- Competence in operating and maintaining modern agricultural machinery, including tractors, combines, and precision farming equipment.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in sustainable agriculture and precision farming.
Salary: £38,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
