Role Overview

We invite applications from experienced academics with a strong background in children's nursing. As an external examiner, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our BSc (Hons) Children and Young People's Nursing Practice programme.

About the Programme

The University of Sunderland's BSc (Hons) Children and Young People's Nursing Practice programme is a collaborative effort between our institution and partner universities. Our programme aims to produce graduates who are equipped to provide high-quality care to children and young people across various settings.

Your Responsibilities
  • Assess student learning outcomes to ensure they meet the required standards;
  • Contribute to the validation process, providing guidance on the quality and effectiveness of our programme;
  • Share your expertise and collaborate with our academic team to develop innovative teaching methods;

We are looking for an individual with recent university lecturing experience, preferably in children's nursing. You should be registered with the NMC and committed to inter-professional education. This is an exciting opportunity to join our esteemed Council of Deans of Health community and contribute to the advancement of children's nursing education. The estimated annual salary for this position is around £60,000-£70,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
