About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team at East London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with service users, carers, and other professionals to provide high-quality occupational therapy services in a forensic setting.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health and forensic occupational therapy, with experience of working with complex and severe mental health and/or Learning Disability needs. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to assess and prescribe adaptive equipment to support independent living, as well as your skills in devising and implementing strategies to improve and monitor quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To undertake comprehensive assessments of service users with complex and severe mental health and/or Learning Disability needs.
  2. To use MOHO based assessment tools and GAS goals to carry out ADL assessments, intervention plans, and outcomes.
  3. To work with service-users using a Recovery-based approach, implementing a range of interventions to support the service-user in developing independent living skills.
  4. To contribute to effective crisis and risk management plans, reducing the likelihood of re-admission into secure inpatient settings.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
