Global Retirement and Benefits Strategist

This role is a key part of Aon's international retirement and benefits team, focusing on the design, implementation, and management of global retirement and benefit plans for multinational corporations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in international retirement and benefits, with a strong understanding of global pension accounting, financing, and tax. They will be responsible for leading the global retirement and benefit client relationship on multiple large annuity or targeted clients, managing the client relationship(s), team(s), and assignment(s) in an oversight/review/quality assurance capacity.

The Global Retirement and Benefits Strategist will also be responsible for communicating effectively in most client situations, including Board of Directors, C-Suite, Global HR Lead, and Global Finance Lead. They will lead new business development efforts, manage a large portion of the client portfolio, and understand market trends and how to recognize these issues in the client situation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage global retirement and benefit plans for multinational corporations
  • Lead the global retirement and benefit client relationship on multiple large annuity or targeted clients
  • Manage the client relationship(s), team(s), and assignment(s) in an oversight/review/quality assurance capacity
  • Communicate effectively in most client situations
  • Lead new business development efforts
  • Manage a large portion of the client portfolio
  • Understand market trends and how to recognize these issues in the client situation

Requirements

  • 20 plus years related work experience
  • 15 plus years experience post exams
  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries a plus
  • Diploma in International Employee Benefits a plus
  • Exposure to non-retirement global benefits a plus
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other related degree
  • Previous experience of working in an international retirement/benefits team for another global consulting organisation at a senior level; and/or
  • Previous experience working in-house for a multinational corporation and being responsible for the design and delivery of regional or global retirement and benefit plans;
  • Experience working both in and outside of the UK can be beneficial but not a requirement
  • Proven ability to both sell and deliver international retirement services to multinational corporations and manage complex global relationships.
