Finitas is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriting Manager to join our team in the City of London.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled individual to manage delegated authority schemes and drive profitable growth. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with brokers, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and analysing underperforming accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers to generate profitable business.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting and Operations teams to review scheme performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Analyse underperforming accounts and work with Senior Underwriters to implement improvement actions.
  • Participate in departmental KPIs and budget planning to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate account servicing and support credit control processes.
  • Support junior team members by acting as a technical referral point and contributing to their development.
  • Perform regular analysis of accounts and prepare reports for internal meetings.
  • Attend binder renewal meetings and present renewal proposals to the Underwriting Committee.
  • Assist in annual cover holder audits and provide audit reports.
  • Provide insights on competitors, market conditions, and product improvements to senior management.

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience managing delegated authority accounts, ideally from an insurance carrier or MGA.
  • Proven relationship management skills with excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the UK insurance market, including regulatory requirements and underwriting practices.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to write reports and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet business objectives.
