We are urgently seeking experienced freelance interpreters to join our team at Language Empire. As a freelance interpreter, you will work with us on a self-employed basis, providing interpreting services to clients across the UK.

About the Role:

Job Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality interpreting services in English and another language. This may involve face-to-face, telephone, or video interpreting, depending on the client's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret in English and another language
  • Check the non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence
  • Liaise between the service user and service provider
  • Work in a variety of settings, including the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation and other public and private organisations

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English and another language
  • All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • You must be aged 21 or over
  • Formal qualifications such as Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered is advantageous
  • Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
