About the Role
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing complex care services to individuals with mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide occupational therapy services to clients with complex needs, using evidence-based and client-centered principles.
- To manage a caseload of clients, conducting assessments, developing and implementing interventions, and evaluating their effectiveness.
- To work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including recovery support workers and employment specialists, to enhance vocational outcomes for clients.
- To promote recovery and social inclusion through occupation-based interventions.
- To contribute to the development and maintenance of occupational therapy services within the trust.
- To participate in service development projects and hold responsibility for defined projects.
- To supervise junior staff and provide leadership to OT students on practice placement.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration to practice in the UK.
- Evidence of post-registration training relevant to mental health practice.
- Training in the theory and application of the Model of Human Occupation within the first 4 months of appointment.
- Experience of working in a mental health setting, carrying a caseload, and participating in multidisciplinary teams.
Working Arrangements
The base for this role will be Barnes Hospital. However, staff members will be temporarily located at Livingstone House in Teddington while Barnes undergoes redevelopment (expected to open in 2025).
Salary
£45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
