Accountant

We are seeking an ambitious and adaptable Accountant to join our team at South Gloucestershire Council. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective and efficient management of our resources.
You will work closely with the Finance Business Partners to prepare revenue and capital budgets, as well as budget monitoring information. Your expertise will be invaluable in providing financial advice and support to budget holders, including advice on capital and revenue resources to support bids for funding from external bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage budgets, including revenue and capital budgets
- Provide financial advice and support to budget holders
- Lead on the production of statutory government returns
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and legislation
- Supervise and oversee the work of Finance Officers and Assistants
As a confident communicator, you will be able to interpret and present complex data, working collaboratively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
