Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Assistant to support the smooth operation of our facilities at a Cambridge University Site. This role is ideal for an individual with previous experience in facilities management or a similar environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary point of contact for all building-related FM issues, communicating with the site/building community and the Estate Division.
  • Ensure cleaning is completed to the required standard, perform spot cleaning, and support the contract cleaning service.
  • Monitor contractors' disposal of waste according to the correct procedure.
  • Lay salt or alternative products as necessary to maintain surfaces and surroundings.
  • Assist with office moves and furniture/equipment relocation, working with contractors and IT staff as needed.
  • Monitor the visitors' car park, reporting any breaches of parking to the Site Facilities Manager and issuing parking notices as required.
  • Provide first-line support for AV systems in lecture rooms and seminar rooms, conducting daily checks and reporting any issues to the UIS or AV team.
