AWS PSOC Operations Manager

The AWS PSOC Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the administrative responsibilities of a small agile team, including staffing, scheduling, performance, training, and development. This role will also involve employing security strategies and procedures in accordance with service level agreements, policies, standards, and operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Employ leadership, management, physical security strategies, and processes in accordance with service level agreements, policies, standards, and operating procedures.
- Work within the AWS PSOC Operations Team, responding to physical security events across the AWS data center enterprise in support of physical security operations worldwide.
- Lead and manage the administrative responsibilities of a small agile team, including staffing, scheduling, performance, training, and development.
- Drive security findings, research mitigations, and analyze potential security vulnerability-related information from a variety of sources to remediate root cause.
- Manage high-security events, communicate risks to AWS stakeholders, and escalate to drive mitigation.
- Utilize a security mindset and judgment to assess security risks across the organization and escalate accordingly.
- Create innovative solutions to security issues, utilizing technology or process improvement.
- Produce progress reports, briefs, and white papers regarding issues, security concerns, and operational opportunities for improvement that affect AWS data center operations and/or AWS reputation.
- Consult closely with other Amazon security and service teams on issues related to AWS security posture and work as a catalyst to bring stakeholders together to address findings and risks until a formalized business owner is identified to take lead.
- Interface with technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership to translate security mitigation plans into actionable items.
The AWS SOC is expanding physical and logical security services operations to support the growth of our data centers and other related security functions. The AWS SOC is seeking a self-motivated SOC Operations Manager with security technology experience, problem-solving abilities, analysis skills, and strong customer obsession.
Requirements- 5+ years of security operations experience
- 5+ years of experience as a team lead or manager
- Experience with Unix/Linux/Windows Operating Systems administration, troubleshooting, and debugging technical systems, scripting, and task automation
- Technical degree or 4+ years of professional/technical experience
- Flexibility of work hours, to include nights, weekends, and holidays
- 10+ years of security operations experience
- 7+ years in a leadership role with AWS Cloud Environments
- Working knowledge of Shell/Bash/Python
- Experience in incident response/management
- Experience developing systems, networks, and operating systems architecture
- Experience in Physical Security Access Control Systems (PSACS)
