About the Role

As a key member of our Commercial team, the UK Project Manager/Director will report directly to the Managing Director of LanzaTech UK. You'll play a pivotal role in driving the company's strategic objectives within the UK and beyond.

In this exciting role, you'll lead, develop, execute, and implement innovative projects focused on the production and supply of sustainable chemicals and fuels. This encompasses both internal LanzaTech initiatives and projects for our valued customers.

Initially, your focus will be on Project Dragon, a groundbreaking commercial-scale waste to SAF facility in the UK. This project boasts significant funding from the Department for Transport, presenting an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a transformative initiative. As you progress, you'll have the chance to manage diverse projects across the UK and potentially internationally.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, identifying key milestones, dependencies, and risks.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, finance, and regulatory affairs.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Your Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects within the chemical or energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with oil & gas, fermentation, process development, and/or process operations in a bioprocessing facility.
  • Experience licensing technology and executing projects with technology licensors and/or EPC companies.
  • Prior plant engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up experience.
