About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Support Worker to join our team in the Carmarthenshire Older Adult Mental Health Assessment Ward at Prince Philip Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with the Occupational Therapist to deliver a high-quality service, ensuring the best possible experience for our patients.

Main Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapy Support Worker, you will work with clients who have dementia, including younger dementia sufferers, and those living with functional mental illness. You will be responsible for undertaking simple occupationally focused assessments and delivering a variety of Occupational Therapy therapeutic interventions. You will also work in partnership with carers, family members, and services in the community to promote independence, health, wellbeing, and safety.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good command of the English language, basic maths skills, and a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in health and social care. You will also need to have additional knowledge and experience of Occupational Therapy principles and grading/task analysis to improve function. You will be required to complete the Level 3/4 OT Support Worker Diploma and have a working knowledge of basic aids/equipment for independence.
