Special Needs Support Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate Support Specialist to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team. This role will play a crucial part in supporting children and young people with special educational needs and their families.
Salary: £35,235 - £39,513 per annum
Location: Lancashire, Countywide (Hybrid)
Job Description:
As a Support Specialist, you will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including families, education providers, and health services, to ensure the best possible outcomes for those we serve.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
- Obtain and interpret the views, wishes, and feelings of children and young people regarding their special educational needs.
- Write clear and comprehensive Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans.
- Attend planning and review meetings, providing support to senior officers as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and data to track progress and outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A recognised vocational or professional qualification in health, education, or social care.
- Experience working with children, young people, and families, particularly those with special educational needs.
- Ability to produce high-quality reports and documents.
