Job Overview:

We are recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to work with Progress Teachers Ltd in Nottingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to pupils aged 11-16 who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

The role involves working closely with teachers and other professionals to develop strategies for managing challenging behaviour, promoting social and emotional development, and supporting students in achieving their academic goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to students displaying challenging behaviours.
  • Implement classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and reduce behavioural issues.
  • Support students in developing social and emotional skills, including patience, empathy, and self-regulation.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, ADHD, SEMH, and complex behaviours.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to educate and engage students in learning activities, using a range of teaching approaches and resources.
  • Patient, empathetic, and nurturing attitude towards children, with a commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Effective team player, able to collaborate with other staff members and parents to achieve common goals.

Salary: £27,500 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
