Project Overview

Tarner is a charity dedicated to delivering high-quality youth services in the Tarner area of Brighton in partnership with the local community. With a strong reputation for innovation and excellence, we are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Deputy Head of Projects.

The successful candidate will take the lead on specific projects and support the Youth Project Manager with all aspects of running this busy service. Key responsibilities will include planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as safeguarding and reporting. Staff management will also be a key focus, including briefings, de-briefs, and leading teams during sessions.

We are looking for someone with proven practical experience of working within Youth Services and the ability to engage and build supportive relationships with young people. Ideally, you will have some knowledge of relevant government legislation relating to the Youth Sector and safeguarding. A passion for youth work, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is essential for this role.

The ideal candidate will have experience of design and implementation of youth projects, good planning and organisational skills, and the ability to work flexibly on a part-time basis with a high level of autonomy. A degree or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Youth work and leadership experience would be highly desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a local community charity and make a significant positive impact on the ongoing high-quality provision of youth services. Tarner is a registered charity and OFSTED registered, and all post holders must have their criminal record checked via a DBS system.
