About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Behaviour Change and Travel Plans team within the Transport and Infrastructure service area. As a School Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in promoting sustainable and active travel among students and parents, fostering a culture of healthy and environmentally friendly travel habits for school journeys across Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee sustainable and healthy travel interventions
  • Provide technical support and lead on behaviour change projects, including Schools travel plans, the delivery of our School Streets programme, and other school travel interventions
  • Manage the Modeshift STARS travel planning system and coordinate travel interventions that encourage a shift away from car use for school journeys
  • Engage with colleagues across the Council to integrate sustainable travel priorities into policy and practice
  • Represent the Council at school events, public exhibitions, and other engagements involving students and parents
About You

We are looking for a degree-educated or experienced professional with a strong understanding of current transport issues and a passion for active travel or behavioural change projects involving students and parents. Excellent communication skills and IT proficiency are also required.
