We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clerical Coordinator to join our Oncology team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to provide administrative support to the Oncology Day Unit, ensuring the smooth running of the department.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a reception service, acting as the initial point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals. They will also coordinate the clinical diary for patients receiving SACT treatment, process chemotherapy referrals, and maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with experience in working in a busy office environment.
Responsibilities
- Diary Management: Coordinate the clinical diary for patients receiving SACT treatment, process new referrals, and schedule appointments.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Oncology Day Unit, including maintaining spreadsheets and patient databases.
- Communication: Facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.
- Problem-Solving: Respond to ad-hoc requests, resolve queries, and notify third parties as required by clinicians.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and/or experience.
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Previous experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Experience of working in the NHS or complex organization.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is estimated to be between £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, annual leave, and professional development opportunities.
