We are looking for a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our team at a SEMH provision in Burnley.

Salary: £14,000 - £16,000 per month (based on 30 days per month)

About the Role

This is a long-term position offering a stable and supportive environment for students aged 11-18. As an English Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons, manage classroom behavior, and support students' individual needs.

Job Description

  1. Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting your approach to meet the needs of mixed-ability classes.
  2. Manage classroom behavior and learning during lessons and throughout the school day.
  3. Work collaboratively with pupil support workers to ensure each student receives necessary support.
  4. Develop social skills and encourage individual growth among students.
  5. Build confidence and motivation through engaging lessons and positive reinforcement.
  6. Participate in team meetings and training programs as an active team member.

Requirements

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of SEMH student needs.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a caring attitude.
