About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Band 6 Midwife to join our dedicated team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. As a key member of our maternity service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to women, birthing people, and families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working within our integrated approach to providing care, including both acute and community settings. This will involve working day and night shifts, as well as participating in the on-call service.

Main Duties:

  • Providing personalized care to women, birthing people, and families
  • Working within a small, cohesive unit to enhance the pregnancy and birth experience
  • Supporting service users in making informed choices about their care
  • Collaborating with our neighbouring trusts through joint training and opportunities for collaborative working

Essential:

  • Current RM registration with the NMC and any other relevant post-registration qualifications
  • Certificate in mentorship/practice supervisor

  • Attend regional units 5 days a year to work within both low and high-risk environments
  • Attended appraisal course
