Job Title: Ophthalmology Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Ophthalmology team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled nurse to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients with visual concerns. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering specialist eye intervention treatments and working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality care to patients with visual concerns, including running nurse-led clinics and providing specialist eye intervention treatments.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care pathways and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in ophthalmology, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies, ensuring they are evidence-based and aligned with national standards.
  • Provide education and training to colleagues, patients, and carers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Person Specification
  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
  • Good basic level of English language demonstrated through effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Prescribing Qualification
  • Masters qualification or studying towards
  • Ophthalmology Experience
  • Oculoplastic Experience
  • Surgical / Outpatient Experience
