Urban Planning Specialist

About the Role: As a Senior Town Planner, you will take the lead on a range of planning applications and development proposals. You'll manage client relationships, provide strategic planning advice, and guide projects through the planning process, from pre-application discussions to securing planning permissions. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior team members and ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
- Lead and manage complex planning applications and appeals
- Provide expert advice on planning policies, development frameworks, and environmental considerations
- Engage with key stakeholders, including local authorities, developers, and the public
- Conduct site appraisals, feasibility studies, and impact assessments
- Support and mentor junior planners within the team
- Ensure compliance with planning regulations and policies
- Extensive experience in Town Planning, ideally with MRTPI or equivalent accreditation
- Strong knowledge of Scottish planning policy and legislation
- Proven track record of managing projects and delivering results
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
