Job Description

**Role:** Behaviour Support Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Support Worker to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, senior leadership, and other support staff to provide tailored support to students in need. Your expertise in behaviour de-escalation, restoration, and management will be invaluable in helping our students overcome their behavioural challenges.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH challenges
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and senior leadership to develop and implement individualised behaviour plans
  • Use evidence-based strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviour and promote positive relationships
  • Liaise with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and support

**Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in an education setting
  • Proven ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour
  • Strong understanding of SEMH principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
