About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Associate Practitioner to join our Neonatal Services team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, family-centred care to newborn babies and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate care for babies and their families, supporting the ethos of family-integrated care.
  • Work under the supervision of a registered Midwife/Nurse and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a high standard of care.
  • Support new parents and babies to stay together, working alongside the multidisciplinary team to avoid unnecessary admission to the neonatal unit.
  • Provide parent craft sessions in a safe, relaxed environment, empowering parents to confidently care for their baby.
  • Work well within a team and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register, or an Associate Practitioner with a Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care.
  • Experience working with newborn babies and birthing people desirable.
  • A positive attitude to providing family-integrated care within a busy environment.
  • Good evidence of ongoing personal development and a commitment to undertake further training.
