About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Associate Practitioner to join our Neonatal Services team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, family-centered care to newborn babies and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate care for babies and their families, supporting the ethos of family-integrated care.
  • Support new parents and babies to stay together, working alongside the multidisciplinary team to avoid unnecessary admission to the neonatal unit.
  • Provide complex, sensitive information to parents and families, and receive information from them in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a high standard of care, promoting effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register or an Associate Practitioner with a Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care.
  • Experience working with newborn babies and birthing people, with a positive attitude to providing family-integrated care in a busy environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing departmental needs.
  • A flexible approach to supporting the service, with a commitment to ongoing personal development and further training.
