We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highways Planning Specialist to lead and manage the highways development planning process for i-Jobs. This role is critical in ensuring that all new developments align with national and local transport policies, infrastructure standards, and sustainable growth objectives.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including developers, local planning authorities, consultants, and public bodies, to ensure effective coordination and delivery of highway-related development initiatives. The estimated salary for this position is £47.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development Planning Coordination: Lead on the assessment of planning applications to ensure compliance with highways and transportation policies, standards, and strategies.
  • Provide expert advice on transport impact assessments, travel plans, and highway improvement proposals submitted by developers.
  • Negotiate agreements such as Section 38 and Section 278 of the Highways Act.

This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills to act as the primary liaison between the highway authority, developers, and local planning authorities.
