Job Description: As a Principal Highways Development Coordinator, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our region's transportation infrastructure.

You will lead the highways development planning process, ensuring that all new developments align with national and local transport policies and infrastructure standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of civil engineering, transport planning, and policy development, with experience in managing complex planning applications and coordinating stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement highway development plans, ensuring compliance with national and local transport policies and infrastructure standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, local authorities, and highway authorities, to facilitate effective decision-making.
  • Review and approve detailed design proposals for highway infrastructure, ensuring alignment with relevant policies and standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of local transport policies and strategies, focusing on sustainable growth objectives.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members, promoting their professional development.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, or a related field, with Chartered or Incorporated status with a relevant professional body.
  • Extensive experience in highway development management, including handling complex planning applications, and a strong understanding of national and local planning and transport policies.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and negotiate outcomes effectively, with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
