Company Overview: We are collaborating with a dedicated boys' Special School in Birmingham to find the perfect candidate to support their students with Special Educational Needs or an Education Health Care Plan.
Salary: This role comes with a competitive salary of approximately £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience.
About the Role:
We are seeking an exceptional teaching assistant with a passion for working with children who face unique challenges. As an SEMH specialist, you will play a vital role in helping our students develop essential life skills, manage their emotions, and reach their full potential.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with teachers to create personalized learning plans
- Implement evidence-based strategies to support students with SEMH needs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and adapt interventions accordingly
- Participate in regular meetings with the school's SENCO to discuss student performance and adjust strategies as needed
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in working with children with SEMH needs
- Degree in a related field (e.g. special education, psychology)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information
