Teaching Support Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill a 1:1 Teaching Assistant position in our Primary School. As a member of our team, you will work closely with a child who requires additional support due to special educational needs.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge and understanding of working with children with Special Education Needs, providing a consistent, nurturing environment for their assigned pupil. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher, supporting teaching and learning and promoting inclusion and equal access to opportunities for all pupils.

This is a full-time position, offering a competitive salary of approximately £25,000 per annum, plus benefits including flexible working hours and a paid referral scheme.

Job Description:
  • Support teaching and learning of your 1:1 pupil under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Provide a consistent, nurturing environment for your assigned pupil.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Promote inclusion and equal access to opportunities for all pupils.
  • Work one-to-one with an allocated student and provide support in all educational areas.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Awareness of safeguarding young people.
  • Resilience and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
