Prehabilitation Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Prehabilitation Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our Cancer Alliance Prehabilitation Team, you will play a vital role in improving the delivery of prehabilitation services at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic professional to develop their clinical skills within oncology and contribute to the improvement of patient care and experience. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centred and evidence-based therapy services to individuals with diverse, chronic, and complex presentations due to their cancer diagnosis and/or treatment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing specialist inter-disciplinary assessments and treatments as an autonomous practitioner.
- Developing and implementing prehabilitation services for lung cancer and immunotherapy patients, with the potential to expand to other tumour groups and treatment types.
- Working closely with the Therapy and Social Work Team to ensure effective prioritisation of patients across Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
- Collaborating with the wider multi-disciplinary team and external agencies to optimise patient care and experience.
- Supervising and educating students and new members of staff.

Person Specification
- Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC Registration.
- Previous relevant NHS Post Graduate experience with significant postgraduate experience preferably within cancer, neurology, and/or medicine.
- Experience of integrated therapy team and MDT working.
- Evidence of involvement in service improvement (e.g. audit, research, and implementation of change).
