Prehabilitation Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Prehabilitation Therapist to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a Prehabilitation Therapist, you will play a vital role in improving the delivery of prehabilitation services at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to develop their clinical skills in oncology and contribute to the improvement of patient care and experience. You will work closely with the Cancer Alliance Prehabilitation Team, Therapy and Social Work Team, and AHP Team to provide a patient-centred and evidence-based therapy service.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy, HCPC registration, and significant postgraduate experience in a relevant NHS setting. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and influence others.
Main Duties- Providing specialist inter-disciplinary assessments and treatments as an autonomous practitioner.
- Developing and implementing prehabilitation services for patients with diverse, chronic, and complex presentations due to their cancer diagnosis and/or treatment.
- Working closely with the Therapy and Social Work Team to ensure effective prioritization of patients across Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
- Contributing to the Cancer Alliance Prehabilitation Team, Therapy and Social Work Team, and AHP Team to optimize patient care and experience.
- Providing education and training to staff, students, and new members of the team.

We are committed to flexible working and offer a range of benefits, including a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,314 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata.
Person SpecificationThe successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Significant postgraduate experience in a relevant NHS setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a team and influence others.
