We are seeking an experienced Echocardiographer to join our team at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Clinical Scientist in Cardiac Physiology, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs and working closely with the Head of Department and Echo Lead to ensure the highest standard of training.

Main duties of the job:

  • Deliver practical and theoretical echo training to staff and students
  • Develop and deliver training programs, preferably with a qualification in education/mentoring
  • Work closely with the Head of Department and Echo Lead to ensure the highest standard of training

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • BSc Clinical Physiology (cardiology) or equivalent
  • BSE accreditation or equivalent
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a clinical scientist
  • Professional registration on the Academy of Healthcare Science (AHCS) or equivalent

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Other certificated modules or formally assessed skills & knowledge competencies, especially related to Echocardiography
  • ILS qualification
  • Recognised teaching or mentorship qualification

Experience:

Substantial experience in cardiac physiology, including extensive experience once qualified, with knowledge of a range of cardiac diagnostic procedures.

Ability and confidence to take sole responsibility for patient care and well-being while undertaking clinical duties.

Ability to take responsibility for administrative duties and show previous organizational skills and use of initiative.

Experience of delivering both practical and theoretical echo training.
