Business Tutor Job Description

Are you passionate about empowering individuals through education and entrepreneurial skills? We're seeking a dedicated Business Tutor to help transform the lives of prisoners by preparing them for successful reintegration into the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist learners in developing their knowledge and skills to successfully complete accredited training programs.
  • Collaborate with learners to formulate their business ideas into comprehensive business plans and support them in achieving a Business Startup qualification.
  • Plan, create, and develop learners' entrepreneurial ideas, preparing them for successful implementation upon release.
  • Challenge negative behaviour, boost self-esteem, and provide a supportive environment to foster personal growth.
  • Enhance prisoners' employability and reduce re-offending through skill development and training.
  • Oversee prisoners in the workshop, ensuring effective coordination of work and training locations.
  • Monitor take-up of taught training and progression of learners, reporting any difficulties to your Line Manager.
  • Monitor quality control of work produced by prisoners to maintain standards required.

  • Knowledge of and commitment to best practice in equalities and diversity.
  • Commitment to developing skills and self-esteem of female prisoners.
  • A flexible and responsive attitude.
  • Awareness of and commitment to the promotion of equal opportunities and the recognition of diversity and inclusion.
