Job Title: Business Tutor

Are you passionate about empowering individuals through education and entrepreneurial skills? We are seeking a dedicated Business Tutor to join our team and help transform the lives of prisoners by preparing them for successful reintegration into the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Educational Support: Assist learners in developing their knowledge and skills to successfully complete accredited training programs.
  • Business Planning: Collaborate with learners to formulate their business ideas into comprehensive business plans and support them in achieving a Business Startup qualification.
  • Entrepreneurial Development: Plan, create, and develop learners' entrepreneurial ideas, preparing them for successful implementation upon release.
  • Positive Environment: Challenge negative behaviour, boost self-esteem, and provide a supportive environment to foster personal growth.
  • Increase Employability: Enhance prisoners' employability and reduce re-offending through skill development and training.
  • Workshop Management: Oversee prisoners in the workshop, ensuring effective coordination of work and training locations.
  • Safety Management: Ensure safe working practices for new prisoners, maintaining a secure and productive environment.
About the Role:

HMP & YOI Bronzefield is the largest women's prison in Europe, accommodating a diverse and complex population of women. As a Business Tutor, you will work with prisoners to develop their entrepreneurial skills and prepare them for successful reintegration into the community.

Requirements:
  • Essential: Be highly organised, able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritise safety in the workplace, and have knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Desirable: Experience in a prison environment, instructing/supporting people with challenging behaviour, and working with people from a range of cultural and faith backgrounds.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of up to £38,362.27 per annum.
  • A fixed, part-time schedule of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 08:00-17:00.
