Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Business Tutor to join our team at HMP & YOI Bronzefield, the largest women's prison in Europe. As a Business Tutor, you will play a vital role in empowering female prisoners to develop their entrepreneurial skills and prepare them for successful reintegration into the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver innovative and stimulating workshop lessons to encourage participation and engagement from prisoners.
  • Collaborate with the Vocational Curriculum Lead to create comprehensive business plans and support learners in achieving a Business Startup qualification.
  • Provide educational support to learners, assisting them in developing their knowledge and skills to successfully complete accredited training programs.
  • Establish a rapport with prisoners to encourage them to take their first steps in learning and achieve their training goals.
  • Monitor quality control of work produced by prisoners to maintain standards required.
  • Undertake duties as required by the Director or Head of Learning, Skills & Employment to contribute to the effective operation of HMP & YOI Bronzefield.
Requirements
  • Be highly organized and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prioritize safety in the workplace and have knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Have an interest in the rehabilitation and resettlement of prisoners and be committed to developing skills and self-esteem of female prisoners.
  • Be able to instruct effectively and communicate effectively through different mediums, including spoken and written communication.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with an approachable personality and a flexible and responsive attitude.
