About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Psychologist to join our team in the Adult Mental Health Service. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to working with older adults and individuals whose lives have been impacted by dementia.

The Assistant Psychologist will work closely with our clinical team to provide high-quality assessment, therapy, and support services to individuals and their carers. The role will involve working with a range of clients, including those with dementia, anxiety, and depression, and will require the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a 2:1 degree in psychology and will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to ongoing professional development. The role will also require the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and to communicate complex information to clients and carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for clients with dementia and other mental health conditions
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients and their carers
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to clients and their carers
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new clinical services and initiatives
Person Specification
  • Minimum of a 2:1 degree in psychology
  • Experience of working with older adults and individuals with dementia
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
