Job Overview

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide essential support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Liverpool schools on a supply basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • \
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND, both in and out of the classroom.\
  • Use structured teaching methods, visual aids, and other autism-specific strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.\
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages independence, social interaction, and emotional well-being.\
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers, SENCOs, and parents.\
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a consistent and effective approach to each student's development.\
  • Support students in developing social skills, managing sensory sensitivities, and navigating daily school routines.\
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required, ensuring the dignity and well-being of each student.\
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in autism education.\
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support activities.\
  • Salary: $25- 30 per hour, estimated £40,000 - £45,000 per year.\
  • Requirements\

    • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND in a school or similar setting.\
    • A strong understanding of SEND-specific teaching strategies and approaches.\
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.\
    • Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting the development and well-being of students with autism.\
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to the changing needs of students and the school.\
