Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our team on a new project in Southampton City Centre. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of Site Engineers, overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant, and carrying out quality inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of Site Engineers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Oversee the selection and requisition of materials and plant to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Carry out and record quality inspections to ensure the highest standards of quality.
  • Use digital platforms such as Fieldview, Viewpoint, and Topcon magnetic field/office to manage projects.
  • Draw and interrogate drawings, and respond to RFIs (requests for information).
  • Provide support to the Project Manager and wider construction teams.
  • Carry out the role of a Temporary Works Coordinator, coordinating temporary works designs and issuing permits.
  • Find solutions to any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering or Construction-related degree qualification is ideal.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Hold a valid CSCS card and SMSTS certification, with 1st Aid training beneficial but not compulsory.
  • Ability to demonstrate previous experience working on sub and superstructures packages, particularly concrete/RC frame structures and basements.
  • Ideal candidate will have aspirations of progressing into a Project Management role.
