Key Responsibilities
  • Preventing Separation: Implement policies to prevent children from being separated from their families whenever possible.
  • Safeguarding Children: Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people, ensuring they reach their full potential and have equal access to services available.
  • Risk Management: Ensure effective risk management, decision making, and preventative working to safeguard children and young people in accordance with statutory requirements and policies.
  • Needs Assessment: Establish the appropriate assessment required and identify the level of need for support/services and placements for children and young people.
  • Care Proceedings: Follow procedures to determine the need for care proceedings where the risk of significant harm warrants a Court Order.
  • Workload Management: Maintain effective systems for prioritising, allocating, and monitoring workloads, ensuring suitable supervision and appraisal processes are in place.
  • Quality Assurance: Proactively identify opportunities to improve team efficiency through performance data, maintaining high standards of social work practice through Quality Assurance and monthly audits.
  • Continual Professional Development: Engage in continual professional development to maintain advanced professional knowledge, skills, experience, and initiative.
