Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our Central Finance team in Brighton, East Sussex. The successful candidate will have experience preparing month-end accounts, monthly reconciliations, VAT returns, and supporting the Head of Finance and Finance Manager in preparing financial reports.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Line management and development of 2 finance administrators
  2. Ensuring timely and accurate month-end management accounts for the Board
  3. Completion of the monthly reconciliations
  4. Monthly variance analysis on overhead lines
  5. Assisting the Head of Finance & Finance Manager in preparation of the Board reports

Requirements

  • Pro-active thinker with a natural ability to identify ways to improve existing processes and establish new approaches
  • Able to work and communicate with all levels of the business using strong written and interpersonal skills.
  • The desire to be a team player with the ability to work autonomously when appropriate
  • Experience of and desire to line manage and support personal development
  • Comfortable working with accountancy software, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Desirable: Experience working in a finance role within a project or people-based industry and/or within a similar industry
  • Desirable: AAT qualified and/or working towards CIMA / ACCA
