Job Description

Job Title: Transportation Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Supervisor to join our team at Kier Group. As a key member of our Transportation Maintenance team, you will be responsible for supervising contract operational works, ensuring they meet health and safety requirements, budget, and programme while maintaining client satisfaction and meeting KPI metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise delivery of planned, reactive, third-party repairs, winter maintenance, and scheme works with thorough supervision of directly employed employees and sub-contractors.
  • Accountability for Operative behaviours when carrying out their operational duties, including HR, HSEQ, commercial, and administration, promoting health & safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees, and ensuring awareness of and compliance with the general health & safety responsibilities.
  • Actively promote the company culture and values, including equal opportunities and respect for all, championing use of, and compliance with the SHEMS.
  • Undertake shift briefings, site inductions, toolbox talks with all operational staff, identifying risks and hazards, and managing/maintaining relevant records, completing site records, daily allocation sheets, daily handover reports, diaries, and audit checks.
  • Ensure work packs are relevant and suitable for purpose, ensuring all site-specific hazards are managed, conducting inspections, monitoring workmanship and material quantities for all works, carrying out various audits, including gate checks, works surveillance safety audits, depot inspections, health and safety site inspections as required, allocating daily and supervision of works and resources to maintain compliance with works programmes.
  • Assist with the management of incidents and defects cascaded through the OCR, communicating with sub-contractors, the emergency services, general public, clients, and customers, take part in the development, recruitment, and selection of new operatives and apprentices.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in a supervisory role along with knowledge of electrical works – Traffic Signals / Streetlighting.
  • Can drive and hold a full driving licence.
  • NRSWA operative/Superintendent qualified.
