Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Dietetic Support Worker to join our team at the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Dietetic Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our dietitians in delivering high-quality nutritional care to our patients.

Main Duties

  • Assist in the delivery of individual and group treatment programmes under the supervision of registered dietitians.
  • Undertake delegated clinical tasks to support the delivery of nutritional care in accordance with agreed guidance and care pathways.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans for patients with complex nutritional needs.
  • Provide support to patients through effective communication and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to evidence-based audit and projects to evaluate and improve patient care.

Person Specification

Education, Qualifications and Training

  • A levels or equivalent qualifications in a relevant subject.
  • Proactively undertakes relevant specialist or departmental training to achieve required knowledge and competency for the role.

Experience and Knowledge Required

  • Practical knowledge of the role, including a good understanding of the role applied for.
  • Experience of working as part of a team and managing allocated tasks independently within own competency.

Skills and Attributes

  • Competent IT skills and the ability to use digital platforms and maintain business-related information.
  • Ability to use a range of communication, negotiation, and motivation skills using various formats, including verbal, written, and virtual.

Aptitude and Personal Qualities
