Palliative Care Researcher

This exciting opportunity enables a talented researcher to work on an NIHR-funded programme, Improving Care for Children with Life-Limiting Conditions: Developing, Adapting, Implementing, and Evaluating Interventions (ICICLE). The post holder will collaborate with our Chair of Palliative Care and Child Health, Lorna Fraser, and contribute to the CHILDS research group.
You will be responsible for protocol development, study setup, and data collection and evaluation across multiple studies within the ICICLE programme. Key responsibilities include leading PPI activities, qualitative data analysis, and contributing to grant writing and fellowship applications.
This part-time role (28 hours per week) offers a competitive salary, approximately £42,000 - £50,000 per annum, and a fixed-term contract until 30/11/2029.
Essential Criteria:
- PhD qualified in a relevant subject area (health services research, palliative care, child health, psychology)
- Significant experience in applied research methodologies (qualitative, systematic reviewing, mixed methods, quantitative skills)
- Proven high-quality research in palliative care and/or child health with publications in peer-reviewed papers
- Experience in designing, managing, and evaluating research projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
