Paediatric Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Trust Fellow in Paediatric Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine. This is a one-year fixed-term post that offers extensive training opportunities for clinicians wishing to pursue a career in paediatric anaesthesia and pain medicine.
Main Responsibilities- Provide high-quality elective and emergency anaesthetic services as requested.
- Engage in clinical governance activities, including critical incident reporting, morbidity and mortality meetings, audit, and quality improvement activities.
- Actively engage in the teaching and training of other members of the anaesthetic department and hospital staff.
- Contribute to quality improvement activities.
- Perform additional management and administrative tasks as deemed necessary.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have:
- Primary medical qualification - MBBS or equivalent.
- Full GMC registration (obtained by designated start date).
- FRCA (or equivalent level of knowledge).
- At least 3 years' higher specialist training in anaesthesia and within 2 years of completing or up to 2 years post completing a recognised training scheme.
- Experience of teaching and presenting.
- Experience of audit/quality improvement activities.
- Understanding of principles of clinical governance.
